Poll results: Spaniard Chanel is our readers’ favorite to win Eurovision 2022
She came third in the 2022 OGAE Fan Poll. She placed second – by the slimmest of margins – with our Wiwi judging panel. And now Chanel continues its ascent. The Spanish Eurovision 2022 star is our readers’ favorite to win the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 ahead of rehearsals.
Ten days ago we asked our readers to vote for their favorites to snatch the crown in Turin. We counted a total of 23,149 votes and the “SloMo” queen emerged victorious.
Chanel, which has never ceased to dazzle with that dance break on television and at promotional concerts, spins, twists and splits in our hearts since Benidorm Fest. She got a total of 2,601 votes – more than 11% of all those cast.
Here’s how I reviewed it before rehearsals.
“Eurovision 2022 fans in Spain used the mango emoji to share their love of Chanel‘s juicy entrance. But given the spiciness and lingering burn of her performance, a chili pepper seems more appropriate.” SloMo” catches fire with its contagious beat and tantalizing raggaeton vibes. But Chanel takes the flames even higher with her jaw-dropping choreography, which would even make J. Lo stretch. From the strobe light effects to the killer dance break , this production is a dizzying slice of delight and awe, and if a Eurovision winner is all about entertainment, this is by far the most perfect entry of the year.
In second place we have Sweden’s Cornelia Jakobs — the winner of both the OGAE Fan Poll and the Wiwi Jury. The Melodifestivalen winner knows how to strike a chord with her folk-pop ballad and we’re definitely here for it.
She got 2,155 votes, just over 9% of all those cast.
Rounding out the Top 3, Italians Mahmood & Blanco finished second in the OGAE poll. They are the only other act to earn over 2,000 votes from our readers.
