Massive transport of suspected fake Versace, Louis Vuitton and Chanel products seized at Norcross Car Boot
Suspected copies of designer brands such as Versace, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Cartier, Ray Ban, Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, Hugo Boss, North Face and Canada Goose have been recovered by Trading Standards Officers and Lancashire Police Sunday May 29.
The raid follows a tip from a member of the public, who alerted Trading Standards after spotting the goods at three different stalls at Norcross Lane Flea Market.
An investigation is underway.
Michael Green, Lancashire County Council Cabinet Member for Health and Welfare, said: “Over 800 goods have been seized at Norcross. It’s quite a significant transport and I commend our trading standards team for their achievement.
“The sale of counterfeit products is illegal, and this case proves that we are not afraid to use our powers to seize any suspected counterfeit items and work with the police to investigate.
“We want to see a level playing field for honest retailers and merchants in Lancashire selling genuine goods, especially in today’s tough economic climate.
“Protecting legitimate retailers by removing illegal operators from the market is a key part of our plans.
“Consumer welfare is also a major concern and the protection of the people of Lancashire is important to us. With counterfeit products we have no guarantee that the products will work properly, be of good quality, last or, above all, , which they will be safe to use.
