LVMH Mot Hennessy Louis Vuitton: Perfumes & Cosmetics July 13, 2021 Art and Haute Couture meet in the new Dior exhibition at the Rodin museum
Dior presented its fall-winter 2021-2022 haute couture show in an exceptionally sublime setting. Dior entrusted the artist Eva Jospin with the realization of a monumental installation In the heart of the sculpture garden of the Rodin museum in Paris. The installation will be open to the public from July 6 to 11.
The silk-embroidered panel backgrounds imagined by the French artist were in perfect harmony with the theme of threads that inspired Dior’s artistic director, Maria Grazia Chiuri.
Entitled Silk room, this unique work is the result of a long process involving a dialogue of multiple voices. The creation refers both to the Indian-inspired embroidery room at Palazzo Colonna in Rome and to Virginia Woolf’s feminist manifesto. A room of your own.
Based on a unique design by the French artist, the forty-meter-long immersive gallery – spanning 350 square meters – is entirely hand-embroidered by virtuoso craftsmen from the Chanakya workshop and the Chanakya School of Craft from Mumbai.
The work celebrates the notion of collective energy dear to the Italian designer and creative director Dior for women’s collections Maria Grazia Chiuri.
With this absolutely breathtaking decor, Dior once again takes daring creativity to new heights. At the crossroads of art and haute couture, this sublime textile architecture unfolds like an ode to the precious know-how and cultures of the world.
