The house’s second high jewelry collection is an ode to the glorious beauty of nature’s landscapes and colors, and also features a host of familiar emblems from Gucci iconography.

Gucci’s second high jewelry collection is based on motifs symbolic of its vast iconography dear to the house and to its creative director, Alessandro Michele. Comprising over 130 largely unique pieces and featuring a kaleidoscopic palette, Hortus Deliciarum (Garden of Earthly Delights in Latin) is divided into four chapters that describe the splendor of nature’s beauty.

An ode to the grandeur of natural landscapes, the first chapter transposes the great outdoors into precious talismans. Think waterfalls, quivering leaves from forest trees, or shooting stars depicted on 1920s-inspired fringe and tassel necklaces, as well as chandelier earrings. The hypnotic and saturated hues of a sunset sky inform the second chapter. Immortalizing the fleeting magic of nightfall, 19th-century romantic, even Gothic, styles updated with bold settings and unique gemstones such as opals, topazes and tourmalines.

The romanticism of a rose garden is the basis of the female story of the third chapter. Filled with rococo bows and talismanic long necklaces, some necklaces are designed with removable pendants to wear as auspicious charms, while the brooches allow wearers to create a veritable bouquet of gemstones.

The final chapter revisits the animal world, evoking ancient gods and a mythical bestiary including the lion, the tiger and Dionysus – all of which constitute the coat of arms of the kingdom of Gucci jewelry. Hortus Deliciarum also offers redefined solitaire rings with a maximalist allure and a selection of jeweled timepieces.
