The names of two people found dead in a Louisville subway apartment complex have been released as the investigation into their deaths continues. Dunier Rivera Rodriguez, 34, and Karen Garcia Gonzalez De Prada, 38, are all two died from gunshot wounds, according to an update released Thursday by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. The man and woman, who were a couple according to neighbors, were found dead Tuesday night in an apartment in the 700 block of Trafalgar Square, not far from the Watterson Expressway and Bardstown Road. According to the coroner’s office, homicide has been listed as a mode of death for Rodriguez and Gonzalez De Prada. The two lived in the apartment where they were found dead. Louisville Metro Police Department detectives haven’t released any updates since the bodies were found, but they said they suspected foul play in the couple’s death. At the time, police were unable to identify a cause of death due to the way the bodies were positioned. Detectives did not give further details of the crime scene. Some neighbors WLKY spoke to said they were taken by surprise when police arrived at the building because they said they had heard nothing of concern. “See how close I am? If there had been a gunshot I would have heard it and anyone else would have heard it.” According to the neighbor, the couple had lived in the complex for less than a year. “The guns are loud and we didn’t hear anything,” said a neighbor who chose to remain anonymous. “See how close I am? If there had been a gunshot I would have heard it and anyone else would have heard it.”

According to the neighbor, the couple had lived in the complex for less than a year. She said they were both friendly and enjoyed playing with her dog when their paths crossed.
