Chanel returns to Incheon International Airport Terminal 1
On Friday, a Chanel boutique opened in Terminal 1 at Incheon International Airport.
It is located in the Hyundai Duty Free department store.
The company said Chanel clothing, handbags, shoes and jewelry are available in the 405 square meter (4,359 square feet) store.
Chanel returned to Terminal 1 at Incheon International Airport for the first time in over six years. The brand was released in 2015.
Terminal 1 now brings together the three major luxury brands: Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Chanel.
A Chanel store was opened in 2018 at Terminal 2 at the airport. It is operated by Shinsegae Duty Free.
“In anticipation of the era when people are living with Covid-19, we plan to strengthen the competitiveness of merchandising in all of our duty-free stores,” a company spokesperson said in a statement. “We will make a premium lifestyle duty-free business by providing new experiences. ”
Incheon International Airport hosted the opening of the Chanel store on Friday, hosting an opening ceremony attended by
Incheon International Airport Corporation President Kim Kyung-wook.
Kim said he thought the opening of the Chanel store was “very significant” as it could help revive duty-free activities at airports hit hard by the pandemic.
