The news most Eurovision fans have been waiting for is now confirmed by the TV show Happy Days. Eleni Foureira and Chanel will perform together at the MAD Video Music Awards in Greece next month. The annual musical show usually hosts a few Eurovision artists each year.

Chanel x Eleni Foureira – “SloMo”

The MAD Video Music Awards have been held every year since 2004. For some years now, the Greek organizers have also invited Eurovision stars to take part. In Athens, they then perform with a local singer in a duet version of their Eurovision songs. Previous duets have been Mikolas Josef and Tamta, Luca Hanni and Vangelis Kakouriotis, Poli Genova and Demy and Helena Paparizou and Sergei Lazarev.

For the 2022 edition, it looks like Eleni Foureira and Chanel will bring Spanish and Greek fans what they crave: a collaboration between the two. Considering the history of the MAD VMAs, it seems logical that the duo perform “SloMo” together.

The pop princesses of Eurovision

Eleni Foureira and Chanel are the pop princesses of Eurovision for their respective countries. “Fuego” reached second place in 2018 and remains Cyprus’ best result in the Eurovision Song Contest. For Spain, Chanel took “SloMo” to third place behind the UK and Ukraine. With this, Chanel achieved Spain’s best result since 1995, when Anabel Conde finished in second place. Her placement even allowed Chanel to receive congratulations from the Spanish royal family.

The 2022 MAD Video Music Awards will take place at the Faliro Sports Pavilion Arena in Athens on June 22. MAD TV will broadcast the show live on Greek television.

Attending a famous event like the annual Cannes Film Festival can be daunting, but for Italian-American model and actress Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz, the pressure was added. When Lutz attended his movie premiere final cut (Cut!) yesterday was her first time seeing the project in its entirety, with a full audience by her side, no less. “I was very nervous and excited at the same time,” says Lutz vogue. “I knew the Palais would have been filled with artists I love and admire, so I felt the pressure. Seeing herself on the big screen, she remembered one of her favorite scenes to shoot. “The sequence shot at the beginning was such a challenge for me, and I think for the whole cast and crew,” she says, without spoiling it.

Considering Cannes is as much about the glitzy red carpet as it is the movies, Lutz also felt compelled to pull off a strong look. “I wanted something that would represent me and make me feel comfortable at the same time,” says Lutz. “I wanted the look to be modern, chic and with a rock touch.” To achieve all of these fashion points, she chose a silk tulle dress from Chanel‘s Spring 2022 couture collection, which had delicate embroidery work on the top. “I loved that the silk tulle was fully painted and embroidered, and the color gradient on the bottom of the dress,” says Lutz. “The dress took 178 hours to make – it’s amazing to put in all the work that goes into making such an amazing dress!” She also completed the ensemble with high jewelry pieces from Chanel, which “added a final rock ‘n’ roll touch to the look,” says Lutz.

While the actor certainly enjoyed dressing up for the evening (and she will continue to do so this week), his favorite part of the whole Cannes experience so far has been returning to cinemas and seeing the reactions. from the live public to the various works. For the premiere of his film, it was particularly touching. “The audience was so alive,” says Lutz. “It was so emotional, I didn’t expect it.” After Cannes, you can expect the star to get back to work on a number of new projects. “I’m currently shooting an Italian series for Netflix about Brigands, based in Italy in the 1800s,” says Lutz. “And I’m soon going to shoot a project that really excites me – a feature film called Magpie directed by Sam Yates, starring Daisy Ridley and Shazad Latif. We feel many other carpets in Cannes in its future.

Michigan’s first Chanel Fragrance & Beauty Boutique opened at Somerset Collection North Level 1 in Troy.

The new 1,260 square foot Chanel store offers perfume, makeup and skincare products with professional advice. Visitors can book a private shopping experience in the boutique before or after normal opening hours and virtual Chanel Beauty Advisor consultations are available for makeup and skincare advice or inspiration during a face-to-face conversation.

Maison Chanel, an international company dedicated to luxury, fashion, style and image, was founded in France by Gabrielle Chanel at the beginning of the last century.

Ionetix in Lansing Partners with CIRA to Bring N-13 Ammonia to South Florida

Ionetix, a Lansing-based cyclotron technology and isotope manufacturing company, has obtained FDA approval to manufacture N-13 ammonia at its Miami site to support CIRA (Center for Imaging and Research of America).

CIRA has been the leading independent imaging center serving the greater Florida market area for nearly 20 years, providing state-of-the-art diagnostics to the community. CIRA will use ammonia N-13 manufactured by Ionetics to perform cardiac PET imaging. Cardiac PET is used to diagnose and stratify risk in patients with coronary artery disease.

The Kiefer Foundation teams up with Cambridge Mobile Telematics Partners to fight distracted driving

The Kiefer Foundation in Detroit and Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT), one of the world’s largest telematics service providers, announced today that they have partnered to tackle distracted driving as part of the tournament the foundation’s annual “Swing for Safe Driving” golf course.

CMT will be the title sponsor of the event, which will take place at the historic Oakland Hills Club in Bloomfield Hills on May 23.

The Kiefer Foundation was founded in honor of Mitchel Kiefer, a hockey player on the 2016 state championship Detroit Catholic Central hockey team and an avid disc golfer, who he simply referred to as “golf.” He called regular golf “ball golf”, hence the name of the “Swing for Safe Driving” memorial ball golf tournament.

The event is designed to raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving. It also raises funds to support the foundation’s mission to end distracted driving through its three pillars: awareness, technology and policy. This includes advocating for vital hands-free legislation across the country, like the recent bill passed by the Michigan State Legislature.

Professional golfer and CMT brand ambassador Kamaiu Johnson will also join the event to raise awareness about distraction. Johnson recently won the Advocates Professional Golf Association leg at TPC Las Vegas for the second year in a row.

Macomb Community College Offers Hybrid Automated Systems Training Programs

Macomb Community College has launched short-term Hybrid Automated Systems training programs, allowing students to learn the basic skills required for certain skilled trades remotely.

The college’s new hybrid programs include Robot Programmer, Robot Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, and Controls Technician. They combine hands-on training with distance learning to incorporate the power of new teaching technologies, including virtual and augmented reality.

Students should benefit from the opportunity to explore the fundamentals they are learning in a controlled environment, allowing them to test theory in a computer-generated environment before encountering these processes in hands-on training. Virtual reality allows students to immerse themselves in a simulated environment and interact with their surroundings. Using augmented reality, students can manipulate a computer-generated image superimposed on the user’s real-world view.

Macomb’s Advanced Technology faculty has worked in partnership with iDesign, an online course developer, to ensure the curriculum reflects the specific needs of local employers. The 13 courses developed incorporate nine core skills identified by employers as essential, including digital media literacy, entrepreneurship and globalization. Each hybrid course uses state-of-the-art synchronous teaching methods and professional production paired with interactive video content featuring Macomb instructors.

“iDesign helped us develop courses that met the demands of local employers and ensured the methodology was aligned with the new hybrid environment,” says Patrick Rouse, Director of Workforce Development and continuing education at MCC. “While COVID-19 accelerated our virtual and augmented interactive training content development process, its creation was based on our longer-term goals of flexible and adaptive course delivery that would benefit the student well beyond of the pandemic.”

Towers went up for SkyBridge Michigan at Boyne Mountain Resort

SkyBridge Michigan, a 1,200-foot-long suspension bridge being built at Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne Falls, hit a major construction milestone last week with the rise of its wooden towers.

The towers are each over 50 feet high and nearly 70 feet long anchoring both ends of the bridge. Their design is a nod to northern Michigan’s lumbering heritage, with wood sourced from nearby Matelski Lumber.

Located on the ridge between McLouth and Disciple’s Ridge, SkyBridge Michigan is set to become the longest wooden tower suspension bridge in the world. The walking surface will be suspended 118 feet from ground level and will provide panoramic views of the surrounding Boyne Valley. The bridge is scheduled to open in September and will be open year-round.

Michigan begins search for its official Christmas tree

Today, the Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) officially launches the search for the tree that will grace the Capitol grounds for the 2022 holiday season. Each year, DTMB is tasked with the state Christmas tree search and harvest and again asks for the public’s help in locating the perfect tree.

“It’s a great opportunity for the people of Michigan to watch them as they explore our pleasant peninsulas this summer,” said Michelle Lange, Acting Director of DTMB. “Our DTMB team works hard each year to select the tree that will best represent Michigan at the State Capitol during the holiday season.”

To be considered, trees must meet the following criteria:

  • Spruce or fir.
  • At least 60 feet tall with a maximum crown of 24 feet and a maximum trunk diameter of 30 inches.
  • Easy access to the road, without interference from wires.
  • Available free of charge.

DTMB is working with the Michigan Association of Timbermen and the Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association to bring the tree to Lansing. Over the past 35 years, the trees have come from places across the state — from backyards to public lands near highways and forests. Last year’s 63-foot spruce was donated by Carla Fletcher and her family from Marenisco in the western Upper Peninsula.

Chanel was born on March 6, 1985 in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of A. Dawn Straw and her stepfather, Kim W. Straw and the late Tony B. Resh, Jr. She graduated in 2003 from Hampshire High School. Chanel loved tinkering, renovating, listening to music, doing her hair, and spending time with her friends and family.

Surviving are his 2 sons, Mathew Gage Resh of Augusta and Balen Craig Harper of Martinsburg; 2 sisters, Toni Lewis of Augusta and Heather Resh (Andrew) of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; 2 brothers, Hunter J. Straw (Amanda) of Scherr, W.Va. and Jacob R. Straw (Tamara) of Romney; and a special friend, Gary Raymond. She is predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Betty A. Aslanian.

A celebration of Chanel’s life will be held at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge on Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 2-3 p.m.
