2022 is the year of Balenciaga x Yeezy Gap

Well, what a busy week for Mr. Kanye West – sorry, Ye. Less than 24 hours after breaking the internet by taking Julia Fox to the most painful post-internet dates we’ve ever seen, he has just started over again by announcing a fashion project with his best friend, Demna. Officially titled Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga, the range, which will be released in June, will be distributed through the American retail giant – and, it seems, at the Gap price on top of that! So there you have it, just a week after 2022 and we already have a co-signed collaboration between two of the world’s greatest creative voices – good luck to whoever tries to outdo it! Head here for the full story. MRS

This bag will accompany you throughout your January gym membership

We know, we know. You bought the gym membership, ordered the juice cleanse, and stocked up on lycra. New year, new you! Personally, January doesn’t have to be so sad. We all need something to brighten up a dark, frosty day, especially if it’s something made from leather. Something like Dior‘s new line of bags, aptly titled “Vibe,” which is basically the perfect duffel bag (which means they’re technically a January must-have). Based on bowling bags, the collection is technically part of the universe of the house jock offer (dumbbells, treadmill, sports equipment) framed by its list of beautiful young athletes. Last year, Maria Grazia told me they were the new Dior muses – perhaps more than actresses – because they symbolized strength and accomplishment (her SS22 collection had boxing silks inspired by Ramla Ali ). And while most of us won’t make it to the Olympics just by taking a few Pilates classes, at least we can rest assured that Dior outlasts any diet or fitness mode. You can start yours in the locker room. OA

Your ultimate guide to fashion in 2022

January is possibly the worst month of the year, but it’s not without some fashion-related goodies. Next week, men’s shows kick off in Milan, followed by more in Paris, then couture to go with you. Luckily, for those who like to stay one step ahead, we’ve designed the ultimate crib sheet for everything to expect this year – a convenient way to help you distinguish your Bianca Saunders from your Balenciagas, your Pradidases of your Supriffanys. … as well as the Year of the Tiger

Have you been breastfeeding with a hangover since December 31? Already broken your New Year’s resolutions? Fear not, the Lunar New Year is just around the corner and – if Wikipedia can be trusted – 2022, AKA Year of the Tiger, is all about “leadership, respect, acting assertively as well as being courageous, outspoken, risk-taking and energetic ”. In other words, it’s the year of the pioneer – it’s not the year of the sheep, after all. Take inspiration from the plethora of fashion houses that have just launched campaigns to celebrate the holidays. Prada‘s red-themed campaign, photographed by Liu Song, marks the Italian house’s donation to the China Green Foundation’s “Walking With Tiger and Leopard” program to raise awareness for the protection of wildlife and biodiversity in China, as well than an open invitation to creative talents under 30 at Chin Art Schools to showcase their personal interpretation of the tiger and submit their works through the Prada website. Gucci, on the other hand, is no stranger to tigers (it’s basically a signature motif) and their Angelo Pennetta campaign features actual tigers in golden Las Vegas interiors. Balenciaga has produced a collection of 57 tiger print pieces – ‘Frosties’, but make it trendy. Last but not least, Valentino OA

Go locò for the new Valentino bag

We may be in a new year, but our obsession with Y2K fashion lives on. The Valentino Garavani Locò bag takes us back to the beginning, an oblong leather offering from the Italian house with a large V-shaped clasp and double gold chain handles, which detaches to transform the versatile bag into a clutch (very 2010s, the next logical nostalgic era). This is the kind of bag that the Euphoria Girls can wear to school, not a notepad or pencil in sight, and it comes in variations of sleek shiny black, neon yellow, and bright Barbie pink. The name hints at many meanings, like the way the bag looks like the front of a retro locomotive, the elegant curve of its cover is reminiscent of a car hood, but it also plays on the Latin word for craziness on the kind of possibility- filled with the Italian hedonism that blew Anita Ekburg into the Trevi Fountain. This also refers to the state of panic in which we’ll try to pick one up when the House makes them available for purchase later this season. TG

Pradidas is back with part two

There is nothing more chic – or more responsible – than ethical fashion. At the end of 2021, Prada took a giant leap in sustainability by replacing all of its virgin material nylon offerings with Re-nylon, a purified composite of waste ocean plastic and textile fibers that can be recycled indefinitely. without sacrificing quality. Today, Miuccia Prada brings this same innovation to the second part of its collaboration with the gods of sportswear adidas. Reimagining the staple footwear from the adidas archives and producing them using unique Prada craftsmanship, the iconic high and low shoes feature sleek leather stripes and a new level of elegance with the logo. Prada enamelled metal triangle. A ready-to-wear range turns the Italian house inward, creating tracksuits, sweatshirts, bobs and coats with the adidas brand and bags that are both functional and timeless – in keeping with the unique association of the two brands. If you’re looking to spice up your sports wardrobe in January, take a look at the collection when it hits Prada boutiques and the Prada and adidas websites on January 13, 2022. TG
